AL JOHNSON MEMORIAL TELEMARK RACE
March 19
Back for its 49th year, this beloved local tradition is a tribute to a rugged 19th century mailman. Competitors don wild costumes and telemark skis to test their strength and endurance! After climbing 660 vertical feet, participants descend 1,200 feet down double-black diamond steeps. DJ Red will be spinning tracks at Butte 66 during the awards ceremony and after party, and winners get prizes — including a $500 Helly Hansen gift code for first-place finishers! Proceeds benefit the Crested Butte Avalanche Center. Register here.
DONATION DAY
March 14
Every year, Crested Butte Mountain Resort hosts Donation Day to benefit an organization in the Gunnison Valley. This year, we are excited to be raising money once again for Mountain Roots Food Project. Mountain Roots helps address food insecurities in the Gunnison Valley through various food assistance and education programs. They will be collecting donations near Red Lady Express in the base area from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Individual donations are matched up to a guaranteed total $2,500 from the EpicPromise Foundation. Donations can be made with cash, check or Venmo, and credit card donations can be made online.

Crested Butte goes all out on the final free spring concert of the season with a big show in the base area, sponsored by Mtn Dew! The event will include swag giveaways and beverage sampling, plus tunes by reggae-rock group Luna Shade. The event takes place from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Butte 66 and in the base area.
POND SKIM
April 1
The end of ski season is one last excuse to celebrate, dress up in silly costumes and gather for memorable events like CBMR’s pond skim, where contestants skim across water on their skis and snowboards, all while trying to put out the best trick. Test your skills — or join the crowd and watch to see who skimmed it best. Best of all, it’s for a good cause! All proceeds benefit the Crested Butte State of Mind – a nonprofit working to reduce suicide rates and provide mental health resources for people in the Gunnison Valley.
CLOSING DAY
April 2
As we round out the 2022/23 CBMR ski season, join us to enjoy the sun and some final turns. There will be a closing day performance by Sunny Downpour at Butte 66.
We hope you join us for what is sure to be an incredible spring ski season! Lift tickets will be limited for the 2022/23 season, so if you don’t have an Epic Pass or Epic Day Pass, make sure to secure your lift tickets in advance to guarantee your spot on the slopes. See you out there!
