SkiTown Breakdown is April 5-7 and is a jam packed weekend with awesome skiing and riding, high energy concert events, the LandShark Pond Skim and more as we close out the 2018-19 winter season.
Friday, April 5
Kick off the festivities on Friday April 5th at the Center for the Arts with an evening performance by Front Country. Front Country pushes limits of the bluegrass genre and creates great music infused with awesome songwriting and a lot of heart and energy. Tickets are available for purchase through the Center for the Arts here.
Saturday, April 6
Saturday is jam packed full of fun for the whole family (and all of their friends)
Flauschink Kids Cape Race I 1 PM I Spruce Carpet
The Flauschink Kids Cape Race is NEW this year and will be held on Spruce Carpet at 1 PM This Free event is open to kids of all ages as well as those young at heart too! Wear your best cape and make your way through a fun obstacle course on the magic carpet near the pond. Don’t miss this fun new way to participate for those who are too young to Pond Skim! Parents must be present and sign a waiver. Flauschink celebrates the flushing out of winter and the coming of spring every year over closing weekend in Crested Butte. The 2019 King and Queen of Flauschink will make their Royal Appearance at the start of the Pond Skim
LandShark Pond Skim I 2 PM I Base Area
The LandShark Pond Skim gets rolling around 2 PM with skiers and snowboarders donning their most prize worthy costumes as they attempt to cross the chilly pond waters, custom built to perfection by CBMR’s very own Moutain Operations team. Don’t feel up to the challenge of attempting the pond skim yourself? Head upstairs to the Butte 66 deck for the best viewing area and kick back with a LandShark lager!
The Main Squeeze I 4 PM I Adventure Park Tent in the Base Area
Immediately following the pond skim at 4 PM, The Main Squeeze will finish out the day with a show of epic proportions. This LA based group weaves the veins of Rock, Funk, Blues, and R&B into modern song stylings that will get you up on your feet for a raging good time. With a rich touring history including opening slots for The Roots, Jane’s Addiction, D.R.A.M., Mac Miller, Aloe Blacc, and Umphrey’s McGee, The Main Squeeze are launching into a new musical orbit, so get ready for takeoff!
Closing Day, April 7
April 7 I Chali 2na and Cut Chemist I 3:30 PM I Adventure Park Tent in the Base Area
Closing day is shaping up to be one for the books with Chali 2Na and Cut Chemist back by popular demand! This dynamic duo from Jurassic 5 will get us dancing, and signing, and grooving until well after the lifts close. Don’t miss their set in the Adventure Park tent from 3:30 PM until 5:00 PM!
