Crested Butte 4th of July 2023 Celebration

July 3rd Festivities

Kick off the holiday festivities with a 3rd of July Rail Jam! Dust off the ski and snowboard gear and join us in the base area for some summer tricks. Registration is free and begins at 10:00 a.m. at the CBMR pump track, followed by an athlete meeting and open practice. The competition gets underway at 1:00 p.m., and an awards ceremony will follow.

Then, join us for a family-friendly celebration in the base area, presented by the Town of Mt. Crested Butte! Guests can enjoy an evening of food, drinks, and free live country music at the Red Lady Stage beginning at 4:15 p.m. Local artist Rachel VanSlyke will open for dual headliners Twenty Hands High and the Devon Worley Band. We will cap off the evening with a fireworks show at dark (weather permitting)!

July 4th Festivities

Start your morning off early with the 50th Annual Pancake Breakfast at the Crested Butte Fire & EMS Department, which begins at 7:00 a.m. Support our first responders while the little ones enjoy ladder truck rides, lawn games and balloon art! Then, make your way to Elk Avenue to watch the Fourth of July Parade at 11:00 a.m., which will end with a massive water fight at the Big Mine Ice Arena! That will lead into the July 4th Street Party at 3rd and Elk, where there will be live music, face-painting, food, non-profit booths, and a beer garden for those over the age of 21.

Afterward, head up to Crested Butte Mountain Resort for the Live! From Mt. Crested Butte Music on the Mountain summer concert series, sponsored by the Mt. CB Town Center Community Association. There will be free live music, children’s activities, and loads of fun! Local opener JUST HOW will kick things off at 5:30 p.m., followed by BoomBox, an Alabama-based artist who fuses house, blues, funk, rock and soul music.

At the concert, adults 21+ will have the opportunity to win a summer prize pack, courtesy of our partners at Kona Big Wave! The prize pack includes a Kona Big Wave-branded Grizzly cooler filled with Kona summer swag, a 2024/25 Epic Pass, and a $200 gift card to our Vail Resorts retail stores. Guests can enter the giveaway at the concert, and the winner will be revealed at the end of the evening. Must be present to win.
