Elevate Your Experience on the Mountain This Summer!

Crested Butte Elevate Your Experience on the Mountain This Summer!

Cornflower blue skies extend into evergreen, and stone tipped peaks.  Wildflowers of every imaginable tint, color and shape spread across mountain sides.  The sun is strong, the nights are cool, and the stars are bright.

Picturesque, right?  Welcome to Crested Butte!

There are over a hundred different ways to have fun here, and really it’s only limited by your imagination.  But we’ve rounded up all the fun things to do on the mountain this summer, so you can sit back, and imagine yourself here!

Mountain Biking at Evolution Bike Park

This one goes without saying.  With 30 miles of lift-served singletrack on the mountain, mountain biking here is (as Christian Robertson, our Bike Park Manager would say) “the cherry on top of a massive cake.”  Our bike park crew spends their days taking the feeling of awesome mountain biking—the feel of flowy berms and jumps, the rugged adrenaline pump of rocky downhill—and bring it to life in the dirt and rocks of our singletrack at Evolution Bike Park.    And you can often find our mountain bike obsessed employees hitting the track on their lunch breaks (like in this video)—so you know it’s good.

Twilight Rides

On Wednesday and Friday evenings from 4:30-7pm, take in the golden hour from the mountain!  Either on your feet, or from the seat of you bike, this is a fun way to end your day.  For $8, you get a twilight lift ticket and a soft drink or beer for that night.  Do a round of disc golf on the hill, take a hike, or do laps at the Evolution Bike Park and then come back to the base area on Wednesday nights for the Live! From Mt. Crested Butte concert!  Wednesday night concerts run from June 29-August 17!

Chairlift Rides

Have you ever seen the view from a chairlift when there’s no snow?  Have you ever seen the view from a chairlift, period?  If you answered ‘no’ to either of these, you need to.  The Silver Queen Express is an incredible way to see valley wide, while being whooshed through aspen groves and pine trees.  Ascend to new heights, take the 2 mile hike up to the peak of Mt. Crested Butte, or head over to the weather tower for expansive views of the West Elk Mountain Range, the Slate River valley, and the town of Crested Butte.

From there, hike all around, or take the trail back down to the base area!

Lift Accessed 3D Archery

The Gunnison Valley is home to some incredible hunting opportunities, so it seemed only right to put a 20-target archery course at the top of Red Lady Express!  Practice your skills and enjoy the sweeping views and waist high wildflowers while you explore the mountain from behind your bow!

Disc Golf

Grab your disks, snacks and drinks and head up the Red Lady Lift for a round of some of Colorado’s most scenic 18 hole disc golf course!  You can rent disks at the Rental and Demo Center, and then spend the afternoon on the mountain!

Live! From Mt. Crested Butte

June 29-August 17, head up to the mountain on Wednesday nights from 5:30pm-7:30pm for an exciting and fun lineup of amazing musicians.  Enjoy the warm evenings on the lawn with a blanket, get up and dance at the base of Crested Butte Mountain, and have the perfect excuse to relax and enjoy summer in all its glory while listening to great tunes.

Adventure Park

Kid’s rejoice!  Something just for you: a climbing wall, a bungee trampoline, mini-golf (for adults, too), and even the Tin Cup Mining Sluice where you can pan for treasures!  This is a great way to spend the day with the little ones, and let them have a ball while you relax in the sunshine!

Zipline Tours

A unique way to see the mountain this summer, is way up high on our 5 zip lines ranging from 120-400 feet!  Swing through aspen groves, and zip above wildflowers.  This is something for the whole family, or an exciting date for couples!

While Mt. Crested Butte is just one gem in our mountain valley, it offers an incredible mix of adventures!  And you definitely can’t come to Crested Butte without getting acquainted with the towns namesake, so we’ll see you on the mountain!
