The Ultimate Running Bucket List

The Ultimate Running Bucket List

By Olympian Emma Coburn

Breathing hard, dirt under my feet, wildflowers up to my hips, winding in between Aspen trees. This is Crested Butte. This is my happy place, and this will be your new happy place too.

Crested Butte, Colorado is my favorite place in the world. It is also, in my opinion, the best place in the world to run. Sitting at 9,000ft with endless trails and dirt roads, Crested Butte is a runner’s paradise. I was lucky enough to grow up in Crested Butte and fell in love with running on the trails here. There is a spirit of adventure in Crested Butte that seeps...

Driving: The short, yet breathtaking, dirt road winds its way up to the Umbrella Bar where there are amazing 360 degree views all the way up. Parking is reserved for the Umbrella Bar in a designated lot, and one short walk later you’ve...

Now is a great time to be sure to exercise and work on your mental health, as much as possible. Just like exercising our bodies, it is good to exercise our minds. Take advantage of the things that make you happy now- it will only help you with your ability to cope later on when the weather isn't cooperating and the days are shorter. Potentially even more important, pass the word on to your friends so that they too can become better...
