Ski and Snowboard Lessons

With classes designed for every level of skier and snowboarder, the Crested Butte Mountain Schools can help improve everyone’s skills. If you are a beginner and have never been on skis before, or if you like to ski Crested Butte’s “Extreme Limits” terrain, there is always room for improving while on vacation.

Private Lessons

Skiers and snowboards who want individual attention can sign up for a private lesson. Private lessons are designed to offer individually tailored instruction for adults, teens and kids. Our trained professional instructors have developed lifelong relationships with alpine and telemark skiers, snowboarders, and racers of all abilities.

Group Lessons

The Beginner Shortcut Lesson is the best place to start for first-time skiers or snowboarders. Crested Butte’s talented and professional instructors will have you skiing or boarding in no time! An all day or half-day lesson with tips on how to start making turns down the mountain will give you confidence for the rest of your vacation. Beginner Shortcut lessons are for adults 17 and older, and they leave at 9:45am and 12:45pm daily.

For those who want to learn specific skills, skiing and snowboard workshops are a good option. Designed for people of all abilities, workshops range from learning turning skills to skiing double black diamond slopes. The workshops have a four-person maximum, so they are perfect for people who want tips for bumps or steeps. Workshops are available daily at 9:45am and 1:15pm and last 2.5 hours.

Or try a Group Lesson to achieve your skiing and snowboarding goals whether you are a beginner or expert. Group lessons leave daily at 9:45am. You will spend the day skiing or snowboarding with one of our experienced instructors, garnering tips to perfect your technique and style.

Family Adventure Clinic

If you are looking for fun for the whole family, sign up for a family adventure clinic. This 2.5 hour clinic is an adventure for the entire family! Let one of our highly qualified CB Mountain Schools instructors be your guide to all the best attractions at Crested butte Mountain Resort. This clinic customizes your own experience and welcomes all ages, Levels 2 and up. Whether you ski and/or snowboard, want to play in the terrain parks, ski/snowboard the bumps, venture into the “Extreme Limits” or just cruise Colorado’s Best Corduroy with one of our top instructors, it’s sure to be the best adventure your family will have! Offered daily at 1:15 pm only.
