Crested Butte Parks & Half Pipe

Crested Butte Mountain Resort features three terrain parks, a superpipe, and jumps, rails, and bonks in locations all over the mountain. What ensures the high quality of our program? Cat Operators and Park Staff. Our Park Staff are obsessed with keeping all locations immaculate. From minor aesthetics to major overhauls, you'll witness their commitment to reach perfection!

The Goods

DC Superpipe

The 400 foot long, 17 foot deep DC Superpipe with a view is back. The pipe cutting technicians, along with the Zaugg Pipe Monster machine, have improved the construction of the Superpipe this year. Ready for a super smooth, consistent ride? We thought so...

DC Terrain Park

Now in its fourth year, the DC Terrain Park is at its best yet! Better layout, design, and construction than ever before. We kept the aspects of the park that work well, and made improvements where they were needed. With better construction of the features and flowmaster technology, the end result is a park that looks and flows better than ever. This is the perfect area to push the limits of progression and fun.

Keystone Jib Park

Keystone Jib Park continues to be the place where the sunshine meets the rails. We are adding new features that will complement the assortment of sliders our riders and skiers already love. This is the place to get your winter legs early, and keep them, with some low-key action.

Painter Boy Terrain Park

This is the place for those who want to learn without intimidation. This season, the Painter Boy Park will have better design and flow, accommodating a wider ability range than ever. No matter if you just want to see what the parks are all about, or if you are fine-tuning your skills before taking them to Canaan, this is the spot.

Park Pods

Look for compact locations that have transformed otherwise mild terrain into something a little more spicy. Jibs, jumps, bonks, bumps and more await those who enjoy making the whole mountain their terrain park.

Safety and Education

While enjoying the Freestyle Terrain that Crested Butte has to offer, the main goal is to have fun and stay safe. By following these Smart Style safety rules, everyone can have fun in the parks and pipes.

To keep the park and pipe environment safe, Crested Butte Mountain Resort marks all Freestyle Terrain with orange oval signs. When entering this terrain, know your limits. Follow any instructions that resort employees give regarding closures and hazards. Take a look at the trail map to become familiar with the locations of Freestyle Terrain. Take the time to educate yourself on Smart Style, and tell your friends about it too. If you follow these safety tips, you are guaranteed to have fun.

Mission

Yeah, we know…. you’re just dying to hear our mission. Well, here it is:

The purpose of Crested Butte’s terrain park program is to provide education, safety, and progression in the sport of freestyle skiing and snowboarding.

The idea is to provide a relaxed environment where enthusiasts are free to improve at their own pace as safely as possible. Through Smart Style, safety is made easy with education. In addition, it is our goal to complement our naturally challenging terrain so that riders and skiers can progress in as many disciplines as possible. Our staff is dedicated to offering guests the premium progression package. Oh yeah, did we mention that FUN is what it is all about? In fact, it’s probably the most important theme of our terrain park program!
