Feb. 9, 2008: Life-Link/Dynafit Randonnee Rally
The 6th annual Life-Link/Dynafit Randonnee Rally, modeled after the popular “Rally’s” in Europe, will add Crested Butte as a venue. This ski mountaineering competition will require competitors to ski their way up, down, and across Crested Butte’s legendary Extreme Limits terrain. The rally begins promptly at 8AM at the ski area base, with competitors running to clip into their equipment and begin skinning up the mountain. The Rally tests competitor’s alpine touring ski skills, endurance and equipment while gaining 5,000 vertical feet (approximately 3,000 vertical feet for the recreational division.) The Randonnee Rally is part of a series throughout the U.S. with competitors vying for over $10,000 in cash and prizes. The Rally Series features men’s and women’s racing, recreational divisions and team categories. For more information, call (800) 443-8620 or email rally@life-link.com.
