Following a strong year for the housing market, recovery continues this year with home prices appreciating, steady sales, foreclosures declining and mortgage rates still within an affordable range. Consumer confidence endures as this year’s sales start off comparable to last year to date. The number of active local listings and inventory is on the decrease. This trend demonstrates that more consumers are feeling comfortable investing in real estate, with sellers and buyers understanding that a small, very unique market like ours will adjust upward as the general market conditions improve.
Investments are being made at all levels in our market. As of just the first of the year, the north end of the valley has realized a total of 39 sales consisting of residential, commercial and land with an additional 22 properties under contract. Year-to-date sales volume is trailing slightly behind last year. But with the busier month of March being historically strong for market activity for this area, we anticipate sales to advance upward for yet another strong year.
