MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – March 15 – There is no shortage of snow at Crested Butte Mountain Resort as the final few weeks of the ski season come into focus. The resort has received over 300 inches of snow this winter and is 100% open with outstanding conditions. As recreationalists search for their last turns of the 2016-2017 winter season, there are plenty of reasons to make a trip to Crested Butte.
 
To celebrate the plentiful snowfall and quintessential Colorado bluebird days, April is the perfect time for Spring Butte. Here are eight reasons why Crested Butte should wrap up your winter season:

Crested Butte Mountain Resort Instructor First to Win National Award
Rachel Hartman Honored with Top of the Course Award

 

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – February 28 – Crested Butte Mountain Resort is proud to announce instructor Rachel Hartman was recently honored with a national award from The Professional Ski Instructors of America and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI). Hartman is the first-ever winner of the Top of the Course Award. This new award is given out to PSIA members who score in the highest percentile of skiing/snowboarding, teaching, technical knowledge, and who demonstrate exemplary willingness and ability to empower others to achieve success.

“PSIA has inspired me to push my limits to new heights and make the butterflies in my stomach fly in formation,” Hartman said. “I love sharing the passion [for skiing and instructing] with other members and passing it along to my guests. I am honored to receive this award, and can’t wait to see where else skiing can take me.”

Leftover Salmon to Headline Ski Town Breakdown
Crested Butte’s free spring show will be a crowd pleaser!

 

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – February 19 – It is time to get funky this spring at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, as it hosts the annual Ski Town Breakdown on Saturday, March 18. Now in its seventh season, this year’s show brings in Colorado jamgrass revolutionaries with Crested Butte roots, Leftover Salmon. The concert is free for all to enjoy springtime sunshine and quintessential Colorado music after a great day on the slopes.  

“This legendary show performing live at the base of the lifts is yet another reason Crested Butte is known as ‘Colorado’s Last Great Ski Town’” says Patti Hensley, Events Manager for CBMR. “The Odell Brewing and LandShark Lager draft trailer will keep the beer flowing. “TIME TO RIDE” IN CRESTED BUTTE FOR BIG GAME WEEKEND
Monday’s lift tickets are the cost of the cumulative score of the game

 

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – January 23 – The penultimate games of the National Football League season took place this weekend, leaving only two teams to battle it out for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. 

Join Crested Butte Mountain Resort to celebrate the big game between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots. Butte 66 will be hosting their annual Big Game Party with deals on wings and customized specials related to each team throughout the game.

Guests should plan on sticking around on Monday as the price of Monday’s full day lift ticket will be based on the final combined scores of Sunday’s game. The price will be determined using the following formula: $1 per point scored. If the final score is Atlanta, 24, and New England, 21, the price of a lift ticket for Monday, February 6 will be $45. However, there is a cap in the event of a high-scoring game; guests will pay no more than $65 for a full day lift ticket.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort Announces CB Unplugged Line Up
Free music series returns to Colorado’s Last Great Ski Town

 

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – January 16 – Kick up the tempo at one of Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s live concerts. The CB Unplugged concert series brings national talent into an intimate setting at the slopeside, base area restaurant, Butte 66. Each free concert features a different artist and their own unique sound during après ski.

On January 21, singer-songwriter Kyle Park is bringing his upbeat, guitar-driven honky-tonk and heartfelt ballads to center stage. His ‘rock with a twangy’ style of music generates a lively and fun show that sure to get the crowd dancing in their boots.

The Indie folk-pop band, Shook Twins, is performing on February 11. Featuring an eclectic style of acoustic and electric instrumentation, plus some inventive percussive and vocal loops, Shook Twins are known for their unique blend of folk, roots, groove and soul.
