Military Appreciation Month during January in Crested Butte

Thanking all the men and women who serve

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – December 30 – Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is hosting Military Appreciation Month during January, as a way to thank all the service men and women in the United States Military with lodging and ski discounts for all active military, retired military, their legal dependents and Department of Defense employees. In addition, the resort has partnered with the Adaptive Sports Center’s Operation Rise and Conquer program, as well as the Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce.

CBMR is proud to offer rooms at the Grand Lodge for $99 per night, along with $35 lift tickets. In addition, $2 of each lift ticket sold will be donated to the Operation Rise and Conquer program. Plus, along with the Adaptive Sports partnership, there will be $35 lessons for skiing or snowboarding.  Local businesses in the town of Mt. Crested Butte and Crested Butte will also offer discounts for military participants. Each participating business will post a “Welcome Military” sign in their front window.

Donate Food for a $37 Lift Ticket to Crested Butte Mountain Resort

3 non-perishable food items per person to be donated to local food banks

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – Nov. 17 – In an effort to help the local community, Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is hosting 2 food drives this winter. The first is on December 6, 2015 and the second is on February 28, 2016, which will support both the Crested Butte and Gunnison food banks. Guests who donate three non-perishable, non-expired food items will receive a voucher for a $37 full day lift ticket, valid on that day Sunday, December 6, 2015 or valid on that day Sunday, February 28, 2016.

“As a company we value our local community and are always looking for ways to be supportive, and give back. We thought that providing food for both the Gunnison and Crested Butte food pantries was a great way for us to help, from the CBMR family,” explains Ethan Mueller, president of CBMR. “It is something that as a company we have done for years at Okemo Mountain in Vermont and we want to do the same here in Crested Butte.”

THE NEW UMBRELLA BAR AT TEN PEAKS TO HIGHLIGHT GREAT FOOD, DRINKS, AND REMARKABLE VIEWS
New cook cabin and bar to open for the 2015-2016 winter season

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – July 14 – The summer is always an exciting time for ski resorts, not only as summer business continues to grow, but it is also a time when resorts are putting capital resources toward improvements. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is especially thrilled to announce a project underway for a new umbrella bar installation at the mid-mountain Ten Peaks location; to be ready for the 2015-2016 winter season. The bar, along with a large deck seating area, new restrooms and a new cook cabin are all part of the million dollar project. The area is further complimented by the breathtaking 360 degree views, making it one of the most picturesque bars in Colorado ski country.

The Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks will feature glass walls, a 35-foot diameter retractable umbrella roof, and seating for 75 people.  NEW RACE AT THE EVOLUTION BIKE PARK - CRESTED BUTTE TRIPLE CROWN
Juniors and Collegiate Age riders vie for the best title in Cross-Country, Downhill, and Combined Categories

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – July 13 – The Evolution Bike Park is calling all biking groms to come enjoy the home of mountain biking during the Crested Butte Triple Crown Junior and Collegiate Mountain Bike Race to be held on August 8 and 9, 2015. The event will consist of three disciplines; downhill, cross-country, and a combined time category. With a focus on evolving the sport of mountain biking, this event is designed for young adult biking enthusiasts to reach their next level of riding in a healthy and friendly competition format.

GUNNISON-CRESTED BUTTE GETS ANOTHER DIRECT NON-STOP FLIGHT
Alaska Airlines will fly from LAX to GUC for the 2015-2016 Winter Season

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – JUNE 30 – Currently with direct non-stop flights from four major cities on two different airlines, Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) and the Gunnison Valley Rural Transportation Authority (RTA) are pleased to announce not only a new flight market, but also a new airline to its regional airport for the 2015-2016 winter season. This new agreement will bring a twice-weekly direct, non-stop flight into the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Alaska Airlines. The new flight is scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning December 16, 2015 and flies through March 26, 2016.
