Hill Climb, Winter TerraCross, Live Music, Foot-traffic Lift Rides and More

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – March 24, 2016 – The weekend after the lifts have closed for skiing and riding, Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) brings back The Ultimate Snowmobiler for the third year. The Ultimate Snowmobiler event is a weekend full of snowmobile and motorsports mayhem right at the base of the resort, April 8-10. New this year, there will be lift rides on the Red Lady Express chairlift on both Saturday and Sunday for foot passengers who wish to spectate along the on-mountain course. Snowcat-drawn sleigh rides will be available to shuttle spectators from the top of the lift to various competition venues, and from the base to the venues prior to lift operations. The Ice Bar at Uley’s Cabin will be open for on-mountain food and beverages. Butte 66 will also have live music on Friday and Saturday evening for après-race entertainment.

Saturday and Sunday are the exciting days for spectators where snowmobiles and RZR Side-by-Side vehicles will be roosting around the resort in the Hill Climb, and Winter TerraCross competitions. The Hill Climb competition...Read more

Over 8’’of snow has fallen in the last 24 hours.

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – Mar 7. – Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) has received over 8 inches of snow in the last 24 hours.  Just in time for spring break, the guests and local residents are ecstatic with the snow from mother nature and the stoke levels are high in the lift line. Hopefully, the weather pattern will continue in our favor and our spring break will be filled with lots snow, events and memories to last a lifetime! Here is a picture from today. Flights are still arriving into the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport with some minor delays and Monarch Pass is currently open, check CDOT for more detailed information. Therefore, traveling to and from Crested Butte is possible.

Ski Town Breakdown is free on March 19th

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – March 7 – Skiing, springtime and music go hand in hand at Crested Butte Mountain Resort, as it hosts its annual Ski Town Breakdown spring concert on Saturday, March 19. This year’s show will feature singer-songwriter KT Tunstall live at the resort, just as she is in the midst of producing a new album. Enjoy a day on the slopes, then swing by for libations and KT’s infectious tunes that are sure to wow the crowd with her positive energy and spirit in the Colorado sunshine.

On the afternoon of March 19, local artists Casey Mae and Tyler Lucas will take the stage, as the opening act. Casey’s beautiful voice and Tyler’s upbeat guitar will truly set the stage for KT. This show is not to be missed for those who love great music after an excellent day of skiing and snowboarding.

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – March 1 – Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) launches a spring sale on season pass products for the 2016-2017 winter season; holding this year’s prices for next year. Buy next year’s Peak Pass or Peak Pass Plus between March 2 and April 3, 2016 to get the best prices for next year, after which the pass prices will go up. The Adult Peak Pass starts at $629 and Peak Pass Plus is $839, with many additional benefits for pass holders with the upgraded pass option. 2016-2017 season passes will be valid November 24, 2016 – April 9, 2017.

“We wanted to be able to offer our guests the 2015 rate on passes to encourage renewal and early commitment, but knew that with rising costs to operate the ski area each year it can be difficult to do,” explains Scott Clarkson, vice president of marketing and sales for CBMR. “Offering a Spring Sale allows us to hold the price for a limited time period for our most loyal pass holders who would like to renew or purchase early to realize the most savings. Monthly Full Moon Parties Take Place at New Culinary Outlet Mid-Mountain

MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – January  18 –  Full Moon Festivities are in full swing this winter at Crested Butte Mountain Resort with the new monthly Full Moon Experience at the new Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks. Take a self-guided skin or snowshoe to the top of Ten Peaks and warm up inside the Umbrella Bar. Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner under the moonlight, including fondue, salad, soup or chili, dessert and one complimentary wine or beer. Additional beverages will be available for purchase.

The Full Moon Experience brings family and friends together in an intimate but social setting, while enjoying the scenery of the surrounding peaks and Mt. Crested Butte under the moonlight.  Guests will want to expect the skin or snowshoe to take forty-five minutes to get to the top of Ten Peaks and come prepared for the elements with layers and a headlamp.
