Working for CBMR
Meet Allison. She is the Adventure Services Manager at CBMR. “I sell the fun stuff,” she’ll tell you. Whether it's rafting, horseback riding, zip lining, biking, or fishing, she can make it all happen. Many times, Allison will work with companies in the valley to plan adventures for her guests in Crested Butte. “Come plan your adventures with me!” she’ll enthusiastically urge you.
She’s an explorer herself, a true Crested Butte local. Her favorite thing about living in the valley is the fact that she can leave her front door and embark on a new adventure every day. “In Crested Butte,” says Allison, “every day is a new moment and a new experience. We live by that mantra here.”
Meet Caroline. She grew up visiting CB, and after college, ended up moving. When she first moved here, she started working as a hotel receptionist at the front desk of the Lodge at Mountaineer Square. Recently, she was promoted to Front Office Manager. She takes care of all the odds and ends’ around the hotel, but the best part is the chance to play a part in guests vacations in Crested Butte, from recommending restaurants to helping plan out proposals. “We had a crazy proposal this past spring,” Caroline dishes. “We set up hot chocolate and candles and rose pedals for a couple, but it ended up blizzarding!” But she said when she saw the newly engaged couple later on that night at Uley’s Cabin, they both were so happy. Being able to be a part of that is a great feeling.
Meet Dan. He comes from the small town of Westford, Massachusetts. When he was six years old, he got a pair of skis for Christmas. It was the beginning of an era in the ski world.
Dan is the Director of Children’s Programs at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. In one sentence, he calls it “the director of fun, exciting children’s activities.” Dan has a lot of pride in his job, and in the success of the programs that he runs. He says for him, working with kids, and being able to share with them a passion for skiing and outdoor adventure is extremely fulfilling.
In both summer and winter you’ll find Dan around the mountain working with the kids camps. One of his favorite camp traditions is the July 4th parade. Every year he drives the ‘Camp CB’ float through town, with all the campers in tow. The kids love it, Dan has fun, and it’s a lively experience for everyone. From a kid’s perspective, being at Camp CB is an endless adventure.
Meet Erica. She is the Director of Innovations and Public Relations for Crested Butte Mountain Resort, handling public relations for the resort and innovations for the company. She moved to CB in 2010, drawn by the mountains and the spirit of the outdoors that runs deep in all Crested Butte citizens. She says, “Part of the reason I love working here is that my job is talking about Crested Butte and sharing the passion I have for the mountains, the community, and everything I love.” It’s pretty special, being able to share a passion for a place and watching that feeling resonate with the people who visit. Erica will tell anyone, “You will quickly find that Crested Butte is one of the best places on earth.”
