What You Love Most About the Mountain: There are so many things I love about CBMR, from the small crowds, to the epic terrain, the picturesque views and awesome community, it really has it all.

Favorite Run: There are so many, I love headwall and anything on the North Face Lift, Horseshoe too.

Local Tip: There’s a lot of amazing terrain on the mountain and some very exposed sections on the North Face Lift and High Lift area. If you’re looking to explore the terrain find someone who is willing to show you where to go. You’ll have a lot better time and a greater understanding of the mountain while staying safe.

What is one thing that everyone should know about you?
I hate those one piece tight suits. It took me two years of competing before I was told I need to start wearing them because they will make transitions faster. Although I continue to detest them, I do believe the pockets make for smoother transitions, which in turn, makes you faster.

Why do you love Crested Butte?
I love Crested Butte for so many reasons, most importantly the outdoor opportunities that are everywhere. I never thought of myself as an outdoorsy person, until moving here. If I ever have downtime, I won’t turn on the tv, instead I’ll either go for a run or a ski in the mountains. There is no shortage of them and no matter where you are in the valley, trails and mountains are easily accessible. One of the best parts about Crested Butte Mountain is the maintenance of trails in the summer and ski slopes in the winter. No matter what the conditions might be, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is a premier training ground for my sports.

In addition, I love having a PO Box in Crested Butte. It allows me to bump into friendly faces all the time. Being able to talk to old and new friends and recognize many people, makes this small, tight knit community that much more fun to be a part of.

What brought you to CB?
My friend Katie Mueller. We were studying to get our Masters in Education together at Colorado College and she was dating a young chap who lived in Crested Butte. We would visit him every weekend (I was definitely the third wheel most weekends) and ski, go to Camp 4, go on hikes, etc. and I fell in love with it! My first year I worked in the Group Sales Department at CBMR and loved it!

How would you describe Crested Butte to a first-time guest?
Like no places you’ve been to before. I have never been to a place where so many people are welcoming and friendly and everyone seems to want to lend a helping hand. Whether it’s helping get you that job you are searching for, achieve your athletic goals, or giving hand-me-down clothes for kids, people in this community just help each other out.

What is your favorite run on the mountain and why?
My favorite run on the mountain is Monument, Twister Silvanite because it always has great snow, is never crowded and never disappoints.

What is your favorite restaurant in town and at the resort?
My favorite restaurant in town is Lils because I love sushi and my favorite restaurant at the resort is Paradise Warming House because there’s nothing better than a mid-day Bloody Mary accompanied by a Rice Krispie Treat :-)

What is your go-to topic for random chairlift conversations?
“Would you rather…”

Who was your skiing idol as you grew up in the sport?
