A TASTE OF SNOWPOCOLYPSE AT CRESTED BUTTE MOUNTAIN RESORT
6”of new snow over the past 24 hours and 20” since Sunday
MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – January 11 – Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) has received 6 inches of fresh snow over the last 24 hours with blue skies and cooler temperatures expected today. It was one year ago that “snowpocolypse” buried Crested Butte with over 10 feet of snow in a 10 day period, and the recent storms are reminiscent of the best days from last season.
Ullr has arrived to Crested Butte by generating 20 inches of new snow in the past week. The recent powder has kept conditions soft on the 78 open trails accessed off of 13 of 15 lifts. Hoots, hollers, high fives and smiles are abundant around the mountain with the fresh snow, and with more snow in the forecast there is no better time to visit Crested Butte! Here are a few images from yesterday afternoon. If you would like more, please contact us.
Flights are still arriving into the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport and Monarch Pass is currently open, check CDOT for more detailed information. Therefore, traveling to and from Crested Butte is possible.
