Fat Tire Bike Week
June 23 - 26, 2011

Experience the Evolution of Mountain Biking and celebrate the 31st Anniversary of Crested Butte’s Fat Tire Bike Week.
 
Legend has it that Crested Butte is the birthplace of mountain biking. Well, the baby is all grown up, and we’re celebrating FTBW's big Three - O this coming June. This year’s "Dirty # 30" will feature the Fat Tire 40 endurance race, Aided Rides, Mountain States Cup Wildflower Rush DH races, pure Crested Butte classics like the Chainless Race & the 24 Hour Bridges of the Butte, as well as some premiere entertainment.

4th of July
July 3 - 4, 2011

Get up early and start your day off right with the Gothic Run Walk or Crawl. Follow that with a Carb Load at the CB Fire Protection District Annual Pancake Breakfast. Make sure to stake out a spot to watch the Fourth of July parade, which starts at Elk Avenue and Sixth Street, and goes down to Second Street. If it’s a hot day and you need to cool off, move past Second Street into the Wet Zone. A tradition for almost as long as the parade, watch as the fire trucks open up the hoses and the real fun begins. Be warned, however, that you will get soaked.

After pancakes and the parade down in town, make your way up the hill for this year’s jam-packed July 4th celebration in Mt. Crested Butte.  This year an evening of entertainment for all ages awaits in Mt. Crested Butte, including the resort’s new Adventure Park – complete with climbing tower, bungee trampolines as well as BBQ and beer at Butte 66 and a fitting finale of fireworks at dusk.

Crested Butte Music Festival
July 3 - August 6, 2011

The Crested Butte Music Festival (CBMF) was founded in 1997 by David J. Rothman and Charles Stegeman with the intention of bringing to Crested Butte, and other areas of the Western Slope, a wide variety of music featuring local artists whenever possible. It evolved out of a winter chamber music series that Rothman started in 1995, which in turn was a supplement to the summer Crested Butte Chamber Music Festival led by Claire Jolivet since 1989.

In 1999 these two efforts were combined. Thus, the Crested Butte Music Festival now functions as the sole local year-round presenter of a broad array of both music and dance genres. Included are orchestral and chamber music, opera, jazz, bluegrass, ballet and modern dance, and arts education for all ages.

Bluegrass in Paradise
July 9 - 10, 2011 

Hosted by the "Master of Strings," Drew Emmitt, this festival will start off with a bluegrass kids camp and Alaskan band Bearfoot (July 6-8), followed by two full days of workshops and performances on July 9 and 10. Bands from all over country include Gypsy Jazz Social Club, Head for the Hills, Town Mountain, Sierra Hull and Highway 111, Seldom Scene, Ralph Stanley & His Clinch Mountain Boys, Honey Don't, Josh Williams Band, Nashville Bluegrass Band, Keller & The Keels, The Kruger Brothers, Drew Emmitt and the Paradise All Star Band.

Crested Butte Wildflower Festival
July 11 - 17, 2011

The Crested Butte Wildflower Festival began in 1986 through the efforts of a few insightful Crested Butte locals who envisioned a wildflower celebration in one of the most picturesque valleys in Colorado. The Festival has grown into a week-long celebration with nearly 200 classes offered by over 40 instructors.

Crested Butte Arts Festival
August 5 - 7, 2011

The Crested Butte Arts Festival celebrates its 39th year in 2011. What began as an informal gathering of mostly local crafters selling their wares has evolved into one of the top 5 fine art and fine craft shows in Colorado, according to the Larry Harris List.  The Crested Butte Arts Festival (CBAF) is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation of the arts in and around Crested Butte.

Fall Festival
September 10, 2011
