Mt. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – January 15, 2010–-The National Ski Areas Association Safety Week starts Saturday, January 16, and Crested Butte Mountain Resort is chock full of useful, timely and fun activities to bring safety awareness into the winter world. This year several different aspects of safety will be incorporated throughout the week long event, highlighting various ways skiers, riders and all mountain enthusiasts can safety enjoy their outdoor excursions.  Guests will find a “safety information tent” at the base of the ski area, where they will see large banners with the skier and rider responsibility codes, smart style codes, and information about the “Lids on Kids” program. The tent will be manned with members of the resort’s mountain safety team, who will invite guests to the tent for an opportunity to gather safety related information.
Also offered will be helpful seminars on staying safe while traveling and adapting to high altitude vacations.   The displays around the resort will include skier/rider safety; travel safety; lodging safety; helmet fitting; safe chairlift procedures; and park & pipe safety.
