Crested Butte Mountain Resort Announces Daren Cole as New VP of Sales and Marketing

September 11, 2008, Crested Butte, CO - Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is pleased to announce Daren Cole as the new Vice President of Sales and Marketing, stepping in as Ken Stone was recently promoted to Chief Operating Officer for the company. As former Director of National Sales at Vail Resorts, Cole's expertise in strategic sales planning, campaigns, and partnering with tour operators and travel agents will help CBMR capitalize on new air programs and strategies.

"Daren's track record at Vail Resorts, successful business experience in the travel industry, and management of group sales will take our sales and airline programs to new heights," said Ken Stone, CBMR's newly appointed Chief Operating Officer. "His experience and proactive business development really helps round out our new team. Crested Butte is really happy to have Daren here full time in his new role."

Cole's most recent experience as principal of Synergy Sales Solutions allowed him to work with CBMR on a contract basis - supporting group and conference sales programs - for the past year. Synergy specializes in business development, marketing, and strategic sales planning for the active lifestyle travel industry. "Daren is well suited for the strategic and proactive approach we are implementing," Stone continued. "While at Vail Resort and Purgatory Resort, he consistently managed and built sales in air partnerships, group sales, and his brand building and management is on target with our initiatives."

CBMR has been undergoing corporate re-structuring over the past four months, filling a number of other top management positions.
