You might say builder/contractor Corbin Marr goes to extreme lengths to get the perfect, or rather, imperfect, materials for his custom homes. After purchasing a dilapidated miner's bunkhouse at the Gold Links Mine near Ohio City, Colorado, he sent his crew to camp out at the remote location for a month while they painstakingly dismantled the bunkhouse and categorized every piece of wood. The building yielded some 35,000 board feet of 1-inch- and 2-inch-thick boards that had been milled on site more than a century ago.

Property in Western Colorado is Bucking National Trends of Declining Values: Property owners in western Colorado may be expecting to see their 2009 Notice of Valuation showing a lower value than their 2007 value, given the recent national economic woes. In most cases, property values have increased or will remain constant for the 2009 reassessment. Generally, the central Rockies and western slope experienced relatively stable or increasing real estate markets during the past several years with lower sales volume.

Snodgrass Update - February 24, 2009
It has taken over four years, but we have finally come to the end of what the Forest Servicecalls “Pre-NEPA.” The resort is now in the process of finalizing its Master DevelopmentPlan and preparing the submission of the Snodgrass Project Proposal. Once thesedocuments are submitted, the Forest Service will take time to review them and make thefinal determination as to whether or not it will formally accept the Snodgrass plan. Assumingthat it does accept the plan, we will be on our way into the NEPA process for thepermitting of lift served alpine skiing on Snodgrass.
