Uley's Cabin

Uley's Cabin takes it's name from local historical figure / bootlegger Uley Scheer. Uley Scheer’s major claims to fame as a provider of food and moonshine are the inspiration for the dining and entertainment Uley’s Cabin. 

Far from the burly, sometimes grubby mountain man image that so many of his generation sported, he was known as a strikingly tall figure with a long neatly trimmed beard and clean white hair to his shoulders. 

As an excellent cook and perhaps even better supplier of libations until his move to the “cross bar hotel” at the Gunnison County Jail (for unintentionally providing local lawmen with moonshine), Uley was one of the friendly, legendary cast of characters that make our community memorable and his memory is commemorated in Crested Butte's newest dining experience.

Experience Uley's Cabin and the Ice Bar today for an elegant sit-down lunch, apres ski cocktails or even a sleigh ride dinner. Reservations are recommended for lunch and required for dinner.

Sleigh Ride Dinner at Uley’s Cabin
Enjoy a unique dining experience where getting there is half the fun.  Ride in an open sleigh pulled by a snow cat to a cabin tucked in the woods.  You will join Chef Leo Novak for an exceptional dinner. 

The menu will feature Colorado cuisine with French influences and will change weekly.  Favorites include Colorado Elk, Braised Lamb Shank and Cedar Planked Salmon. A full bar and a handpicked wine list are available to complement your dining experience.  Then bundle up afterwards to take the sleigh back to the base area.  Sleigh Ride dinners are available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.  Advance reservations required.

Last Tracks Dinner at Uley’s Cabin
Ride the Red Lady Express Lift and ski or snowboard to an extraordinary dinner prepared by Chef Leo Novak.  The menu will feature Colorado cuisine with French influences and will change weekly. 

Favorites include Colorado Elk, Braised Lamb Shank and Cedar Planked Salmon.  A full bar and a handpicked wine list are available to complement your dining experience.  After dinner join members of our ski patrol and ski school for the last run of the day with headlamps to light the way.  Last Track dinners are available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.  Advance reservations required.
