Meet the TeamMeg Brethauer Doug Duryea Managing Broker Doug lives in Crested Butte with his wife, Heidi, and their five children. Doug's love of the outdoors and desire to raise kids in a beautiful, safe environment are what led him to this valley 12 years ago.Doug is very involved in the community; a part-time Youth Pastor at the Oh Be Joyful Church, a volunteer director of the Community Food Banks, an Assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts and is involved in various Crested Butte Sporting Programs. My great grandparents were early settlers of Crested Butte. They moved here from Yugoslavia in the early 1900’s, helping to form the diverse and vibrant culture prevalent here today. As much as I loved growing up in Crested Butte, I left in the mid-80’s to purse first a career in real estate but then turned to my other passion and pursued a career working with Indy racecars. After living “life in the fast lane” I returned home to care for my family.
I continue to carry on family tradition by living in my grandparents’ house that was brought into town from the floresta mine over 100 years ago. I cherish this area and love helping others to become a part of this beautiful community. When I’m not in the office serving you, I’m fulfilling my “need for speed” snowmobiling in the backcountry, hiking with friends and my four dogs, or riding motorcycles with my husband Turbo. Linda Spinner With a background in hospitality, the arts and real estate, I can offer our Summit Services and Mountain Club clients the benefits of my experience and my dedication to helping others embrace the lifestyle I have enjoyed here in the mountains. I welcome the opportunity to make your stay—whether for a week or a month or forever—the best it can be. Michele Schmidt

I have truly fallen in love with this place and the abundance of outdoor activities it has to offer in both summer and winter. This is my first year working for CBMR and I look forward to sharing my passion for Crested Butte with guests. As the Summit Services Coordinator, I’m here to ensure that you receive consistent communication from all divisions within Summit Services. I’m here to plan weekly après events as well; giving Club members an extra opportunity to feel connected with one another. |

A stint working as a lodge manager in northern Colorado and an introduction to the lakes, mountains and trails of the high country created a desire to make Colorado home and lured this former beach bum and sailor away from the Caribbean. After living in Frisco and Telluride, my husband and I discovered Crested Butte and the valleys that make access into the high country so easy whether hiking or skiing.
My husband and I dreamed of living in the mountains one day because of our love of skiing. With two children already settled here in the valley and a summer trip to hike in the fields of flowers, our dream became a goal. In June 2006 we packed our bags and moved to Crested Butte and have not looked back. We now cherish our time here with hiking, biking, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snow-shoeing and snowmobiling – just about anything outdoors. I have worked for Crested Butte Mountain Resort for three years and I thoroughly enjoy sharing my passion for the resort and the area.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 2007 with a degree in marketing. Looking for a small mountain town, I discovered Crested Butte after visiting some friends attending Western State. I moved here in 2008 - the year we recorded well over 400 inches of snow and haven’t looked back since.
