| Terrain Parks | CBMR’s terrain park program is designed to offer a clear progression to guests. Whether mastering jumps, rails or the halfpipe, riders will find a series of features that matches their ability level, allowing them to move from beginner to more advanced lines within each park, and then to more advanced parks as skills improve. Advanced Park: The Gold Link Terrain Park, (1,800 feet long) located under the Gold Link lift on the Cascade trail, includes medium and large jump features, a full spread of rail features and the SuperPipe. Jib Park: The Keystone Rail Park is the resort’s first park to open for the season, offering a variety of rail features from a beginner to intermediate level. The focus is on providing fun, creative features that less experienced and expert riders alike are sure to enjoy. The Keystone Jib Park evolves throughout the season with new features, jibs and rails coming online weekly. Beginner Park: This popular park is located off the Painter Boy lift and is open to skiers, snowboarders and snowskates. The park offers a full progression of features from rolling terrain to beginner hits and rails. It is open to all ages and is popular with kids. Special feature for parents: enjoy a cup of joe at the Camp 4 Coffee location at the top of the park while watching the kids rip it up. Snowboard/Skiercross Track: Located on Canaan off the Paradise quad, descending under the lift, this track is designed for multi-user fun. It is open throughout the bulk of the season in preparation for the USASA Southwest Colorado Series races. |

| Activities for the Disabled | The Adaptive Sports Center (ASC) of Crested Butte provides year-round outdoor recreation activities for people with disabilities and their families. Winter programs include adaptive instruction for alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and snowboarding. Lessons include private instruction, a lesson-only lift ticket, and equipment. | Adventure Park | CBMR’s base area Adventure Park comes complete with ice-skating, bungee trampolines, a climbing wall and lift served tubing in the winter; the bungee trampolines and climbing wall plus a mini golf course in the summer. The bungee trampolines provide a turbo-charged, gravity-defying ride up to 30 feet in the air, while the Climbing Pinnacle features a 28-foot, 6-route tower with auto-belay. The Adventure Park is open year-round. |
| Zipline Tours | Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) added a new Zip Line Tour to its on-mountain amenities. The guided tour, which debuted in June 2011, includes five zip lines, and a series of suspension bridges. The Crested Butte Zip Line Tour is available during the summer, fall and winter seasons; the resort will offer the only guided zip line tour at a Colorado ski resort, and one of the only guided winter canopy tour operations in the state. In order to accommodate the winter operation, crews had to modify many features and structures for guests to enjoy no matter the weather. Price is $59 per person. |
| Tubing | Lift-served tubing is part of the resort’s Adventure Park scene for winter. Located on warming house hill in front of the Crested Mountain condominium complex, the Tubing Hill features a tow lift and a single tubing lane with banked turns that winds down the mountain as an exhilarating ride. |
| Snowshoe Tours | Crested Butte Mountain Resort's snowshoe tour is a unique way to experience the majestic surroundings of Crested Butte. Tours explore areas of the mountain where few skiers go, including Snodgrass Mountain, adjacent to Crested Butte Mountain. Participants learn about the history of the area and qualities of the local ecosystem. Tours last about two and a half hours, involve approximately two miles of hiking, and include a guide, snowshoes, poles, a lift ride, water, and a light snack. Ninety percent of the tour is downhill or flat, but participants enjoy a great workout along the way. Tours leave twice a day at 9:45am and 1:15pm. |
| Moonlight Snowshoe Tours | Snowshoe by the light of the full moon this winter. CBMR features moonlight snowshoe tours four times a year, on the night of the full moon in December, January, February and March. Catch a ride on a snowcat to the top of CBMR’s Red Lady Express chairlift and snowshoe the moonlight mountain trails back to the base area. The dates for 2011-2012 are: December 10, January 9, and February 7 and March 8. Pricing: $75 per person for moonlight tours (prices subject to change). | Nordic Skiing | The Nordic Center is the hub of recreational activity in the town of Crested Butte. Experience the beauty of the Gunnison Valley with over 55 kilometers of track groomed for classic and skate cross-country skiing or guided backcountry tours. Last year, CBMR built a 5k loop in North Village in Mt. Crested Butte for Nordic Center guests to utilize additional skiing on the mountain. If you are new to the sport, there are instructors for teaching all levels. A full fleet of rental equipment is available at the Nordic Center. Call Crested Butte Vacations to make reservations. | Snowcat Driving | Participants learn the basics of driving snowcats, grooming, pushing snow, and experience one of the best ski resort jobs on a closed course. The school incorporates initial classroom time for safety and operational instruction then students get out on the course to maximize the driving time. “We take everyone on a ‘full tour’ of the machine,” says Chris Corliss, CBMR’s Mountain Operations Manager. “We do a complete walk around, discuss the parts and functions, and then get going with live drive time. It’s a totally different experience and a ton of fun, too. Our instructors are the real folks on the mountain doing real work, so it’s not a watered-down version for people who do this.” The Snowcat Driving Experience is one-on-one instruction in a fully-functional Prinoth 350 Snow Cat as used in Crested Butte’s grooming operations. |
