Mountain Sports TeamCrested Butte Mountain Resort is pleased to offer its fifth season of comprehensive mountain sports programs that are accessible to a wide variety of athletes, from kids learning to ski and ride to driven student athletes. CBMST offers various levels of participation beginning with weekend development programs to full-time, competitive based programming. CBMST Development Programs focus on bringing kids exhibiting strong fundamentals by taking their personal skills to a higher level in alpine racing, snowboarding, free-ride, and tele-mark skiing. The Development Programs will introduce athletes to tactical and technical approaches while taking advantage of all the terrain the mountain has to offer. The primary goal for all of our athletes is to set them up for success. With this in mind, we have created a developmental pipeline for our participants. This approach aids in creating an environment that allows coaches to focus on athletes’ developmental and skill level in a similar age range. They move through a system that teaches fundamental skills in technical skiing and progresses them towards tactical skills within their specific discipline. The following is an outline of the development pipeline for athletes and the disciplines offered for each team: Junior Development Team “Jr. Devo’s”: Ages 7-10 The following programs are offered for Alpine and Snowboarding. 1 ½ Day Program – $999 *Holiday and mid-winter camps available for all athletes. Camp dates to be determined. Early season conditioning program is included to all “Jr. Devo” athletes with their program price. For more information navigate to the camps page on the left hand tool bar. Development Team “Devo’s”: Ages 11-13 (Based On Dec. 31st age)The Development Team is designed to continue to allow our athletes to grow in their specific discipline, with the commitment to local and regional competitions growing at this age level. The “Devo” program provides more time on the hill with a 1 ½ and 3 day program offering. Dryland training will be required throughout the season as directed by the coaches. The following programs are offered to all disciplines: Alpine, Snowboarding, and Telemarking. 1 ½ Day Program - $999 3 Day Program - $1680 *Holiday and mid-winter camps available for all athletes. Camp dates to be determined. Early season Conditioning Program is included to all “Devo” athletes with their program price. For more information navigate to the camps page on the left hand tool bar. The Following programs are offered to all disciplines: Alpine, Snowboarding, and Tele-Marking. 2 Day Program - $1998 Full Time Program - $3950 *Competitive Team program will start on the weekend of November 24th. All other programs will start December 1. Weekend will be finalized once the competitive schedule is finalized for each discipline. Holiday and Mid-Winter Camps available. All camps are included in the program price for the Competitive Team Program (excluding pre-season camps). Camp dates to be determined. For more information please navigate to camps listed on the left hand side of your toolbar. Early season Conditioning Program(dryland training) is included to all “Competitive” Athletes with their program price. * The MST will be using the new USSA age classifications. To determine which age class your child will be in, please refer to the Age Class tab located on the left hand side of your toolbar. Coaches will be working with athletes to determine correct program placement. Mountain Sports Team Camps MST Early Season Conditioning Program – October 30th – dryland training begins at the CBCS 3:30 – 5:30 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays. We will take Halloween (Wed.10/31) off. November 15th will be the final session of dryland. Holiday Camps – These two 3 -day camps were created to work around the local school schedule and provide more time for the athletes on snow. Each four day session will follow a curriculum that builds off of individual’s athlete’s winter long program. This allows continued coaching from the same coaching staff on the mountain sports team. Mid-Winter Camps – Feb. 20,21 & 22 from 9AM -3PM. Available to all athletes. This 3-Day Camp works around the CB Community School’s February break, with the focus on training towards and around the competitive season. Time will be spent reviewing past results and experiences at competitions, and working on curriculum for previous and future experiences in the competitive arena. For the Jr. Devo Team, the curriculum will continue to be based and built off of the progressions they are working in their 16-week program. Prater Cup Prep Camp – Dates TBD Like the previous few seasons this camp will consist of fundamental skill refreshing with a focus on speed skills. It will be lower volume and with a ramping up of intensity throughout the 3 day block of training. Athletes will be reintroduced to their skill base and will gain further experience in speed skills, including glide turns, aerodynamics and terrain work. The focus for this camp will be free skiing with simple GS and SG gate training progressions, and fun. We want the athletes ready and rested as they move into a big weekend of racing.
