
CBMST 2010 Summer Programs
This summer the Crested Butte Mountain Sports Team is creating a comprehensive conditioning and skill development program. Join our staff for a 6 week training block from July 6 - August 13, 2010. Sessions will run mornings, Monday through Friday.
Mountain Bike Skills and Cardiovascular Fitness
Monday, Wednesday, Friday
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Athletes will begin everyday with a basic skills progression, games, and moderate climbing on both road and single track. This summer our MTB Devo Team will focus on two groups for more specified development. The first group will be a beginner group that lacks the fitness for longer climbs and technical descents. This group’s focus will be based in skill development, riding games, fitness and will feature plenty of lift accessed riding to keep them smiling.
The second group will focus on fundamental skills but will also grow their cardiovascular base through work in multiple target heart rate zones. The accelerated group will feature educational sessions to better understand the cardiovascular systems. Heart rate monitors are encouraged. The goal with both groups is to improve riding skills and increase cardiovascular capacities.
Ages 10 +, pricing does not include summer lift access.

Strength and Conditioning
Tuesday and Thursday
9 a.m - 11 a.m.
Join the CBMST staff for a 6 week block of strength training. Training will be education based and winter sport specific, focusing on max strength, explosive strength, agility and balance. Sessions will take place in the Elevation gym. Sessions are 120 minutes in duration and will feature warm up and cool down components. The main body of each session will be 60 minutes and of a high intensity. The core of this strength block is founded in proper technique, safety and fitness philosophy.
Ages 14+, pricing includes gym access.
