Discovering Much More Than the Mountain in Crested Butte
The skiing and riding at CBMR is out-of-this-world, but no true adventure-seeker can survive on shreading alone. Maybe that’s why there are so many activities and opportunities to be found off the mountain, as well. Explore all of Crested Butte this winter starting with some of these off-mountain options.

Elevation Spa at Elevation Hotel & Spa
A brand new, 11,000 square foot world-class spa and fitness center located just steps from the mountain. Themed according to the Green Spa Network, the Elevation Spa features organic products and renewable practices designed to protect the environment. The spa includes nine therapy rooms that combine massage therapy for the muscles, body treatments for the skin, facials for a beautiful complexion, as well as cardiovascular machines, strength training equipment, pool, hot tub and sauna to give guests that feeling of well being so often sought in mountain environments. Prices vary per treatment option.

Carriage Ride Tours of Historic Crested Butte
Take an informative, 20-minute tour of Historic Crested Butte in a horse drawn limousine pulled by our percheron draft horse Dan. Tours depart from the Chamber of Commerce located at the 4-way bus stop on 6th and Elk Ave. and are available most evenings (horses get a day off on most Sundays during the season). Pricing: $15 for adults/$10 for children 12 and under (prices subject to change).

Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum
Come visit the colorful past of the historic town of Crested Butte in the old Tony's Conoco. Experience the rich heritage of the immigrant miners and their families who survived harsh mountain winters living a simple life. See the dramatic transformation of this special town from mining to recreation. Enjoy exhibits about local history, skiing, railroads, local personalities, miners, and the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. Open daily in the winter from noon to 6pm. Hours: Admission is $3 (pricing subject to change).

Cross-Country Skiing
The Nordic Center is the hub of recreational activity in the town of Crested Butte. Experience the beauty of the Gunnison Valley with 45 kilometers of track groomed for classic and skate cross-country skiing or guided backcountry tours. If you are new to the sport, there are instructors for teaching all levels. A full fleet of rental equipment is available at the Nordic Center. Call Crested Butte Vacations to make reservations. Pricing ranges from $10 - $15 per person for a day pass, to $35 - $55 per person for a lesson package, to $20 - $80 per person for a specialty tour (moonlight, lunch, etc.). Prices subject to change.

Dog Sled Tours
Full day and half-day tour options allow aspiring mushers to venture into Crested Butte's backcountry. The tour operator specializes in introducing guests to the basics of mushing and, when desired, teaching participants to run a team of very experienced huskies on a pristine wilderness trail. So bundle up, and get ready to do some exploring. Pricing ranges from $110 to $130 per person (pricing subject to change).

Crested Butte Center for the Arts
In 1972, the non-profit organization, the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre (CBMT), was founded to infuse the community with fun, fantasy, and freedom. After performing in several locations through the past few decades, the theater's current home is the Mallardi Cabaret Theater. With its goal to bring arts to the local community, the theater puts on several plays each year. Call the theater for a current schedule. Pricing varies and some complimentary events are scheduled. Snowmobile Tours
With guided tours lasting a full 3 hours you will be sure to get your fill with this adventurous family friendly sport.  Follow your knowledgeable guide through the Lake Irwin area just outside of the town of Crested Butte while experiencing true Colorado wilderness. Pricing: $74 - $94 per person (prices subject to change).

Winter Trail Rides
Journey through the snow for one hour on horseback.  Enjoy the glorious Colorado countryside and revel in the opportunity to encounter elk, mule deer, big horn sheep, and bald eagles.  Half-way through the ride we'll stop to warm up by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa. Pricing: $60 per person (prices subject to change).
