Best Known For

The town boasts one of Colorado's largest National Historic Districts, with charm impossible to convey in words. Although "magical" and "charming" are words synonymous with Crested Butte, this doesn't mean the town hasn't kept a bit of its irreverence.

Crested Butte is home to Colorado's first X-Games, the legendary U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championships, the U. S. Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships and the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse.

About Nestled in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, Crested Butte is committed to preserving the pristine landscape and mountain lifestyle. With vibrant Victorian storefronts and expressive local characters, the small historic town remains true to its heritage and radiates an unparalleled welcoming and inviting spirit that celebrates a simpler life and time. Thanks to a widely diverse landscape, whether beginner or burgeoning national champion, outdoor enthusiasts of all levels will find a new challenge with each visit. Adventure Park New this year, CBMR introduces the base area Adventure Park complete with year-round ice-skating, bungee trampolines and a climbing wall. The skating rink is made from Super-Glide® synthetic ice and represents the first synthetic ice-skating facility in Colorado. Super-Glide synthetic ice is a high-tech skating surface created by skaters, and the rink was recycled from the American Museum of Natural History in New York, NY, where it was part of a display on climate change. The bungee trampolines provide a turbo-charged, gravity-defying ride up to 30 feet in the air, while the Climbing Pinnacle features a 28-foot, 6-route tower with auto-belay. The Adventure Park will be open year-round.
Tubing The resort will add a lift-served tubing hill to the Adventure Park scene for winter. Located on warming house hill in front of the Crested Mountain condominium complex, in the area previously occupied by the adult learning area (which has moved to the same location as the children’s learning area), the Tubing Hill will be re-graded featuring a new tow lift and multiple tubing lanes.
Nordic Skiing

The Crested Butte Nordic Center, located in historic Crested Butte, provides 35 kilometers of groomed trails for traditional and skate skiing (trail pass required), an ice rink, snowshoeing (trail pass required) and a sledding hill. The Nordic Center also provides rentals, lessons and guided backcountry tours in the Gunnison National Forest.

Call 970.349.1707 for more information or visit the website at www.cbnordic.org.
