Wednesdays with Wendy Fisher 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. Wendy Fisher, local Olympian and freeskiing expert, is again hosting Wednesday ski clinics at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. In the 2012-2013 season, Wendy will lead two separate learning options based upon ability level: one for high beginner/intermediate skiers and the other for high intermediate advanced/expert skiers.

Participants can expect to learn how to ski with more fluidity, and how to work the terrain differently to enhance the on-mountain experience. We’ll focus on improving each participant’s technique and confidence and we’ll determine our destination based upon the comfort level of the group.

This Intermediate Session is ideal for the Intermediate skier who has not yet experienced Crested Butte’s Extremes or is not comfortable with this type of terrain. Price is $90 per clinic.

Watch Alpin join forces with the Crested Butte Community School Band and battle note for note with Crushed Out, an explosive hit of surf-garage momentum and rock and roll from Brooklyn, New York consisting of Frank Hoier on guitar and vocals and Moselle Spiller on drums.

FestEVOL 01:30 P.M. to 06:00 P.M. Crested Butte Mountain Resort "Come to Play, Stay to Rock."

FestEVOL is a unique lifestyle experience combining mountain sports, live music, innovative natural brands and a sustainably focused “eco village” to help keep the event green. This year's big act is the legendary Wailers! Reggae music has never stopped evolving but for millions of people from around the world it’s still defined by the songs of Bob Marley and the Wailers. It’s been their heartbeat rhythms that have inspired so much of what’s followed since, as evidenced by the enduring popularity of the “one-drop” reggae sound.

The history of the band during Marley’s lifetime is well known. Just to recap, their music has sold in excess of 250 million albums worldwide. In England alone, they’ve notched up over twenty chart hits, including seven Top 10 entries. This was no accident. Apart from Marley, the Wailers have performed with international acts such as Sting, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, as well as reggae legends Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer and Burning Spear. Their most recent collaborators include Kenny Chesney, Eve, Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. They’ve also completed innumerable tours over the years, playing to an estimated 24 million people across the globe, including groundbreaking performances in Africa and the Far East.Opening for the Wailers is Vermont-based Twiddle. Expect the band to spin tall tales over an intricate soundscape of hi-def shred. Their fresh multi-genre approach conjures up jazz, classical, and bluegrass, but above all, masterfully blends reggae and funk. Obliterating laws of improvisation, their complex arrangements never fail to leave crowds lusting for more. With sage songwriting and unmatched variety, Twiddle’s thrilling infancy will surely exceed all expectation. Special vacation packages available!

Bones Brigade at Center for the Arts 07:30 P.M. to 09:00 P.M. Center for the Arts The legendary Bones Brigade was a talented gang of teenage outcasts who completely dedicated their lives to a disrespected art form: skateboarding. For most of the 1980s, this misfit crew – headed by 1970s ex-skateboard champion Stacy Peralta, the film’s director – blasted the industry with a mixture of art and raw talent, becoming the most popular skateboarding team in history.

The core unit of the Bones Brigade – Peralta, George Powell, Craig Stecyk III, and groundbreaking skateboarders Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain, Tommy Guerrero and Mike McGill – built an empire that covered the world. They dominated contests, made hundreds of thousands of dollars, created the modern skateboard video, and set the stage for a totally new form of skating called street style. Check out the film at the Center for the Arts at 7:30pm. $7.
