Grab a few friends or come alone and rediscover the virtues and variety of Crested Butte Mountain. During Wednesdays with Wendy the focus will be on exploring your favorite runs and lines as we tackle some of Crested Butte Mountain Resort's most challenging terrain. Participants can expect to learn how to ski with more fluidity, and how to work the terrain differently to enhance the on-mountain experience. We’ll focus on improving each participant’s technique and confidence and we’ll determine our destination based upon the comfort level of the group.

24th Annual Alley Loop

An American Birkebeiner qualifying race, Colorado Cup series race and Crested Butte's largest costume party, the Alley Loop features a unique course that winds its way through the streets and alleys of downtown CB! The course meanders through snow-lined alleys, behind false-fronted stores and restaurants, over footbridges and alongside residences before heading out to the pristine outskirts of Crested Butte. Great prizes and loads of fun for all ages and abilities.

Make a date with freeskiing phenom and Olympian Wendy Fisher at Crested Butte Mountain Resort this Valentine’s Day. From Feb. 13 thru 15, 2010, Wendy is offering an opportunity for couples, be it spouses, ski buddies, best friends or siblings to work together to improve technical skiing skills. Participants will learn to identify areas for improvement by observing their partners and to communicate helpful tips with a constructive delivery. This special clinic includes three full days of skiing. The first and third days will focus on exploration of the mountain as a couple, or team, and on the second day participants will be grouped according to ability level and individual needs will be addressed.

Participants will receive a solid introduction to, and experience with, riding a splitboard, increased on-mountain skills, and a broad knowledge of backcountry safety basics. The weekend will culminate in a one-of-a-kind wilderness experience on Snodgrass Mountain, a beautiful backcountry setting with spectacular glades and powder stashes galore. Join Adaptive Sports for an endurance ski event benefiting the Adaptive Sports Center and the Crested Butte Ski Club. 7 Hours of the Banana is a lift-accessed endurance-style event on Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s “Banana,” one of the mountain’s most extreme runs. Participants will ride the Silver Queen chairlift, traverse over to the Banana, ski or snowboard down, and repeat! Endurance athletes are encouraged to sign up solo or as a team, don a costume and collect pledges to benefit the ASC and the CBSC. Various prize categories will be awarded, including the most laps completed and the most money raised. $35 per person (with CBMR pass), $70 includes entry and lift ticket. Cost is $25 per event. Competitor lift tickets run $30 a day. Family tickets run $45 a day. We run 2 events per day for Alpine events. All Competitions start at 11:00 a.m. Call with questions 970-349-2286. HELMETS REQUIRED FOR ALL EVENTS. Skiers are welcome to compete in the Slopestyle and Superpipe events and Boardercross events. Age groups for men and women of ALL AGES under 6-over 60.
