The winter season is upon us with several festive and fun events happening on the mountain and in town! From avalanche awareness to skiing Santas there is something for all ages and interests!
December 8, 2017 I Avalanche Awareness Night
Join the Crested Butte Avalanche Center for the 15th Annual Avalanche Awareness Night at the Lodge at Mountaineer Square. Avalanche Awareness Night is the biggest fundraiser of the year for your local avalanche center. There will be avalanche education topics covered by the CBAC forecasters and guest speakers, beer, pizza and a blistering raffle. Doors open at 5 pm, program starts at 6 pm
December 9, 2017 I Beacon Brush Up
Join the CBAC for the 6th Annual Beacon Brush Up at Crested Butte Community School. All skill levels invited and encouraged to attend. There will be FREE backcountry rescue and survival skills, followed by beer and gear at the Alpineer. Presented by Irwin Guides. Events start at 9 pm and go to 4 pm.
December 9, 2017 I Santa Ski Day
Help set the World record for the most skiing Santas. All you need is a Santa suit and either a season pass or a day pass to the ski mountain (ski for only $25 if you are in a full Santa Suit). Participants must to be decked out in a full Santa suit in order to participate in the group Santa Ski at 3:30 PM from the Ice Bar at Uley’s Cabin. CBMR will be offering amazing discounts on lift tickets and lodging so Santas can stay in Crested Butte after a full night of holiday cheer!

Please join Gunnison Crested Butte Weddings on December 9th, 2017 for a Local Wedding Show at the Lodge At Mountaineer Square from 3 - 5 pm. Amazing local wedding vendors will have booths and ideas to make your special day magical.
December 9, 2017 I Light Up Night
Watch as Santa sprinkles the magic dust on top of the Christmas Tree at the annual tree lighting ceremony on the mountain at 5 pm in the courtyard at the Lodge at Mountaineer Square. Bring your little ones to have their photo taken with Santa as they each tell him what they would like for Christmas.
