Our staff are some of the most adventurous, awesome people you’ll ever meet! The Gunnison Valley attracts individuals looking to connect with the stunning land that surrounds us and make the most of what our unique mountain town has to offer. In their free time, our employees participate in back country skiing and riding, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, Fat Biking, Ski Biking and so much more! Here, keeping up the Jones’ is more about the number of ski days logged than what’s in your bank account. This passion for outdoor adventure comes to work with our employees every day and we encourage them to share that stoke with our guests… Now that’s a mission statement worth getting behind!

You know all those awesome people we talked about in reason #1, well, we like having them around! Here at CBMR we promote from within because we already know we have great employees! Take George Dobmrowski, for example. After starting work at CBMR in 2006 for another department, he moved into full time seasonal Lift Operations work in 2009. This was a great fit for George and he progressed quickly to base area supervisor, then training supervisor, and onto his current position, Lift Operations Assistant Manager. He’s been in that position since 2014 helping to make the Lift Ops Department function at its best. Heidi Fassel, our Grand Lodge Front Office Manager is a stand out employee in our Lodging division. Starting as a Front Desk Agent in 2013, she’s worked her way through every position in the front office world to make her qualified for her current role, all in just 5 years! David Hartman, our newly appointed Ski and Ride School Director, has been teaching on this mountain for over two decades! Beginning in 1995 as a staff instructor, Dave went on to take additional roles within the department like Supervisor, Staff Trainer and Adult Ski School Manager. Employees want to be active out on the mountain year-round so, CBMR sponsors employee programs to make sure you are fit, safe, and ready to enjoy all the valley has to offer. Starting in December of 2014, we adopted the Fit for Snow Program, created by Dr. Delia Roberts, which focuses on staying healthy while working in a Mountain Resort environment. Hydration, proper nutrition, and safe body movement are all topics regularly discussed through the program to make sure our employees can perform at their best on and off the clock. Come Fall, the itch to get out on the snow starts to affect everyone… To help with that, we offer a 6-week dryland training class held 4 days a week for all full-time year-round employees, and anyone hired for the winter season. Local trainer Tim Skafidas makes sure all those long dormant ski muscles are ready for action on Opening Day!
