SkiTown Breakdown Is This Weekend!

Springtime is nature’s way of saying “Let’s Party” and we’re doing just that during our closing weekend from April 6 – 8! Not only is closing weekend a lot of fun out on the slopes, but we also have a fantastic line up of live music and events for an unforgettable closing celebration!

Friday, April 6: Kick the weekend off with Olympian Aaron Blunck and live music!

Aaron Blunck Celebration at Butte 66: On Friday at Butte 66 from 4 – 5:30 pm we will be celebrating our local Olympian and CBMR Ambassador Aaron Blunck! You’ll want to be one of the first 100 people to arrive as they will receive complimentary Team Aaron Blunck CBMR t-shirts!

Aaron will be signing posters from 4:00 – 4:45 pm and there will be a toast to a great season at 4:45 pm. To add to the celebration, happy hour specials will be available for the duration on the party!

Trout Steak Revival at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts: Come enjoy Trout Steak Revival Concert a blend of folk, indie, bluegrass and roots that is shaped into their own style of American! Doors are at 7:30 PM and concert starts at 8 PM

Saturday, April 7: Enjoy on mountain events all afternoon long!

Drew Emmitt Band at the Ice Bar at Uley’s Cabin: Check out FREE live progressive bluegrass by Drew Emmitt Band from 12 – 2 pm. Plus, drinks and the grill will serving up delicious food!

LandShark Pond Skim in the Base Area: The Landshark Pond Skim will be taking place and costs $10 to enter. Registration is at Butte 66 from 1 - 2:30 pm. Not looking to participate? You won’t want to miss watching it! The main event will be held at 3 pm in the Base Area.

This year, there will be no "official judging" of our LandShark Pond Skim. There will be many LandShark giveaways for adults.  Kids prizes include complimentary SUP rentals courtesy of CB SUP. Pond skimmers never cease to amaze us - and our team will be evaluating a mix of pond skim performance, costumes and group entries to determine who wins prizes.

The New Orleans Suspects at Butte 66: New Orleans Suspects will be wrapping up the day with more FREE live music from 4 - 6 pm! Comprised of some of the most seasoned, highly respected players in NOLA, the group called themselves The Unusual Suspects. Their chemistry was undeniable and by the summer of 2011 they decided to tour full-time, renaming the band New Orleans Suspects.

Plus, there will be giveaways including Jimmy Buffett and the Eagles concert tickets and a bottle of Montanya Anniversaria Rum (ages 21 and over).

Sunday, April 8: It’s the last day of the season and a chance to show off your best costume, get some final laps in and have a great time with your friends.

Coral Creek at the Umbrella Bar: Coral Creek will be playing the last live music set of the season from 12 - 2! This Americana/Newgrass show is also FREE!

Round out the day with a Cape Race that will start Flauschink Hill.

Join us in saying goodbye to the 2017 – 18 season with a crazy fun closing weekend filled with exciting events, awesome lodging deals and memories. We’ll see you out there!
