CBMR 2019 Summer Opening Day

2019 Summer Opening Day

After winter thoroughly took hold of Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) burying the mountain in snow, the summer season is finally in sight. Beginning on Saturday, June 8, CBMR will be open daily for the summer operating season with all base area culinary and retail outlets, plus select activities for all ages. Summer operations are available at CBMR until Oct 6.

With lingering on-mountain snow, some activities may have a delayed opening this summer. Activities, such as the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park, disc golf, and archery courses, will open as conditions permit. Below is a full rundown of activities to enjoy beginning on Saturday, June 8.

Activities for the Family

The Adventure Park

Open daily beginning June 8. Hours of operation are from 9:30 am – 5 pm

Families love CBMR’s Adventure Park. Whether chasing adrenaline on the Powerade bungee trampolines and rock climbing pinnacle, or casually panning for gems and knocking hole-in-ones, the Adventure Park is the ultimate for family fun.

The Flying Gopher miniature golf course will feature nine holes through June 16 to help accommodate for the Ride the Rockies event. Beginning June 17, the miniature golf course will include all 18 holes.

Scenic Chairlift Rides via the Red Lady Express Lift

The Red Lady Express Lift will be open daily beginning June 8 through Sept. 2. Hours of operation are from 9:30 am – 5 pm with extended Twilight Hours until 7 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays beginning June 14.

Soak in the best views in the Gunnison Valley via the Red Lady Express Lift. As we wait for the snow to melt and the trails to become hike-able/ridable, there will be no bike loads or hiking allowed above the top terminal of the lift. No skis or snowboards will be allowed on the lift as well, but don’t worry, CBMR opens for skiing and riding on Nov. 27, 2019.

Zipline Tours

Open for daily reservations beginning June 8. Stop by the Adventure Center or call 844-374-2050 for reservations.

Experience the clean mountain air from a different perspective. CBMR’s Zipline Tour features five ziplines ranging in length from 120-400 feet, each connected by engaging features such as suspended wood bridges and towering platforms.

Archery Sight-in Range

Open daily beginning June 8. Hours of operation are from 9:30 am – 5 pm

Located at the top of the Red Lady Express Lift, the sight-in range provides the perfect location for archers to prepare for their next hunt. The larger 3D course will continue to expand as the snow recedes. All archers are required to bring their own equipment.

Mountain Biking

The Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park is currently closed until the trails dry out.

Everyone is eager to get out for a ride and luckily some of the local trails are now open for the season! For now, we recommend the Lupine and Upper Loop trails for riding around Crested Butte. Visit the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association’s (CBMBA) website for the most accurate and up-to-date trail conditions. Hang tight, we’ll get the Bike Park open as soon as we can.

Hiking

Hiking on the multi-use trails at the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Park is currently not permitted until the trails dry out. Again, hiking above the top terminal of the Red Lady Express Lift will be strictly prohibited until conditions allow.

Stretch your legs on the Lupine or Upper Loop trails, plus a few trails in the Cement Creek drainage. We recommend visiting the CBMBA’s website for the most accurate and up-to-date trail conditions for both hiking and riding.

Camps for the Kiddos

Popular kids’ camps: Camp CB and Mountain Adventures both return for the summer season beginning on June 8 and June 10, respectively.

Whether mom and dad are gearing up for their own adventurous day or the kids simply need to expel some energy, CBMR’s kids’ camps are the perfect fit for everyone. Learn more by following the links above.
